Fruits and vegetables from China’s Yunnan Province are increasingly popular in ASEAN markets. Grapes, citrus, and mushrooms have become major exports, with Yunnan-ASEAN agricultural trade rising 23.5% year-on-year to 18.6 billion yuan in the first half of 2025.
Experts note Yunnan’s unique climate enables year-round production, complementing ASEAN’s supply cycles. Improved logistics — including the China-Laos Railway and cold-chain transport — allow fresh produce to reach Thailand, Vietnam, and beyond within days.
Supported by free trade zone policies and tax incentives, Yunnan has established a two-way “fruit corridor,” exporting local produce while importing tropical fruits from neighbors.
