The 10th Belt and Road Summit opened in Hong Kong on Wednesday, bringing together senior officials and business leaders from Belt and Road countries to explore new opportunities for cooperation and to build a win-win future.
John Lee, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, said in his speech that over the past 10 years, more than 45,000 participants from over 120 countries and regions have joined the summit. Together, they presented more than 2,800 projects under the Belt and Road, shaping a shared vision through collaboration and connectivity.
Lee emphasized that Hong Kong, as a global “super connector” and “super value-adder,” will continue to promote high-quality cooperation along the Belt and Road.
Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, in his keynote address, said: “The Belt and Road Initiative is a lifeline for our social and economic development. It has provided the resources and partnerships we need to lay the foundation for growth.” He added that Belt and Road projects directly touch the lives of ordinary Cambodians every day.
As a cornerstone event in support of the Belt and Road Initiative, the summit has helped companies expand their businesses and facilitated progress on various projects.
