During economic and trade negotiations held for business leaders from China and Kazakhstan, the two sides signed eight cooperation agreements, marking significant progress in bilateral collaboration. Batalov, Chairman of the Kazakhstan National Business Association (Atameken), stated in an interview that joint projects with China—including strategic energy partnerships and agreements on the import and export of agricultural products—have produced fruitful outcomes. He emphasized the mutual desire to showcase achievements, exchange experiences, and embark on new business ventures together.
Between February 2 and 13, a delegation comprising representatives from over 30 well-known Chinese companies participated in events held in Astana and Almaty. Discussions focused on exploring the potential for cooperation in key sectors such as oil and gas trade, clean energy, and e-commerce. Batalov stressed that Kazakhstan places great importance on long-term economic cooperation with China under the Belt and Road Initiative, noting that China has become the country’s largest trading partner and one of its top sources of investment. He also highlighted Kazakhstan’s strategic location and advanced transportation infrastructure as the cornerstone for sustainable bilateral trade relations.
Batalov further noted that Atameken, established in 2013, not only supports Kazakhstani companies in accessing international markets but also creates a fairer and more convenient business environment for foreign investors. Following the success of the second Chain Expo, Batalov expressed his commitment to actively organizing the third expo, with the aim of building more platforms for business cooperation and deepening economic and trade relations between the two countries.
