China cemented its status as the world’s leading market for industrial automation in 2025, accounting for 59% of global installations, according to the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) World Robotics 2026 report. Installations rose 20% year-on-year to a record 354,000 units, propelled by strong deployment across the electronics, automotive, and machinery sectors. Domestic Chinese manufacturers captured a 55% share of local installations, reflecting accelerating technical self-reliance under the 15th Five-Year Plan (2026–2030), which emphasizes embodied AI integration to counteract demographic shifts and industrial labor bottlenecks.
