Highlighting new quality productive forces, the 2024 Sun Island Annual Conference forEntrepreneurs was held in Harbin, the capital city of northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province, from Thursday to Saturday.
The conference gathered over 1,000 attendees to discuss topics such as seeking innovation and development paths amid the comprehensive deepening of reforms, and pursuing the development of new quality productive forces in accordance with local conditions.
Xu Qin, secretary of the Heilongjiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China, said at the event’s major forum on Saturday that Heilongjiang is accelerating the construction of a high-quality, innovative region by establishing advanced technological innovation systems and modern industrial systems.
In a speech at the forum, Fu Hua, president of Xinhua News Agency, said that as the state news agency and a new-type think tank with Chinese characteristics, Xinhua continues to strengthen the research, interpretation and dissemination of topics related to new quality productive forces.
He urged the conference attendees to exchange ideas and insights, and offer valuable suggestions on the development of new quality productive forces that will help achieve new breakthroughs in the comprehensive revitalization of northeast China in the new era.
The three-day event was co-hosted by Xinhua and the municipal government of Harbin.
