Laos Section of China-Laos Railway Surpasses 3 Million Passengers This Year

As of November 4, the Laos section of the China-Laos Railway has successfully transported over 3 million passengers, surpassing its annual target. This marks a 44.4% increase in passenger numbers compared to the same period last year, with international passenger traffic growing by 165.8%, reaching 108,200 passengers from 101 countries and regions.

The significant rise in passengers is attributed to several factors, including Laos’ economic recovery, its role as the ASEAN chair, the promotion of a “Tourism Year,” and the implementation of visa-free policies for Chinese tour groups. Additionally, the China-Laos Railway Co., Ltd. has introduced effective management strategies, such as adjusting train schedules and increasing train services to meet high demand.

The company also focused on enhancing customer service, improving ticketing systems, and offering convenience for passengers. In response to concerns regarding customs clearance for international travelers, the company worked closely with Laos customs authorities to streamline processes, reducing clearance times and ensuring smoother travel. These efforts have contributed to the sharp rise in international passenger numbers.
