Dialogue and cooperation discussions between the Malaysia Belt and Road Committee and the Xiamen Economic Association of China aim to combine the mutual advantages of both parties to advance regional economic integration and support the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
A delegation led by Dato’ Sri Chua Bo Qiang, First Vice President of the Malaysia Belt and Road Committee, visited Professor Zhou Mingwei, President of the Xiamen Economic Association, to hold comprehensive talks on strengthening cooperation between Malaysia and China within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. During the discussions, various opportunities for cooperation in trade, industry, technology, and culture were explored, with suggestions to establish joint mechanisms for business connectivity and resource sharing, as well as to organize trade events.
Chua Bo Qiang emphasized that Xiamen is an important open gateway on China’s southeast coast, while Malaysia is a strategic country along the Belt and Road route. He noted that deepening cooperation in fields such as high-tech manufacturing, halal food, green energy, education, and tourism could contribute to regional economic integration. The Malaysia Belt and Road Committee will continue to play a bridging role to promote closer and higher-quality cooperation between Malaysia and China under the Belt and Road strategy.
