Manturov: Russia and China Plan to Strengthen Investment Ties

At the 12th Meeting of the Russia–China Intergovernmental Commission on Investment Cooperation held in Beijing, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov emphasized the need for strengthening investment tiesbetween the two countries and creating a fair, transparent, and predictable business environment.

During the meeting, Manturov stated that the discussions focused on “the necessity of enhancing investment cooperation and establishing a fair, transparent, and predictable business climate—an essential condition for further expanding production and technological cooperation, improving transportation connectivity between Russia and China, and increasing mutual trade volume.”

Manturov also underlined that Russian and Chinese institutions and enterprises should continue to coordinate efforts to explore cooperation opportunities and develop effective collaboration mechanisms that can mitigate geopolitical risks. He expressed confidence that these coordinated efforts would elevate bilateral investment cooperation to a qualitatively new level.

In recent years, Russia–China relations have expanded beyond trade to include investment, energy, and technological collaboration. In previous meetings, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing cooperation in investment and energy sectors.

These developments also hold strategic significance for Turkiye, both diplomatically and economically. As the Russia–China axis increasingly seeks to establish alternative frameworks to Western investment and trade blocs, Turkey must carefully define its maneuvering space within this evolving geopolitical and economic landscape.
