The 24th China Shanghai International Arts Festival (CSIAF) will be held from October 17 to November 27, according to an announcement made by the Shanghai municipal government at a press conference on Wednesday.
The festival will feature more than 1,200 performances and events, including music, dance, theater, and exhibitions. Art groups and institutions from over 80 countries and regions are expected to participate.
Held annually in October and November, CSIAF is recognized as one of China’s most influential and prestigious international cultural exchange platforms. The festival aims to promote cultural exchange and mutual learning among civilizations.
According to Kong Lun, Deputy Director of the International Exchange and Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, around 60 percent of the productions in the festival’s main program will be international. The program will include a total of 129 performances across 55 productions.
