The 2025 Apparel Technology Training Program for Developing Countries, held in Fuzhou, offered a 23-day “smart manufacturing” journey to industry professionals from Belt and Road countries including Azerbaijan, Egypt, Gambia, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, and the Solomon Islands. Hosted by China’s Ministry of Commerce, organized by the Fujian Foreign Economic Cooperation Center, and supported by Minjiang University, the program integrated Fujian’s innovative expertise in the apparel sector with the global trend of digital transformation. From 3D digital modeling to AI-driven design systems and full supply chain coverage, the curriculum ensured that participants gained both knowledge and practical skills.
During field visits, participants explored Fujian Shunbang Group, drawing inspiration from its transformation from export-oriented manufacturing to a recognized brand in workwear and outdoor apparel. At the Fujian Provincial Fiber Testing Center, they observed advanced fabric analysis instruments and rigorous quality control procedures, gaining insight into the scientific and technical foundations behind high-quality production.
