On December 8, the broadcast of the Belt and Road China-Myanmar media cooperation program and the launch ceremony of the program “Strolling in China” were held at the Chinese Cultural Center in Yangon. Myanmar Deputy Minister of Information Ye Tint, Zheng Zhihong from the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar, and over 100 media representatives from the two countries attended the event. During the event, the launch ceremony of “Strolling in China,” prepared by the China Media Group Asia-Africa Center in collaboration with Myanmar National Radio and Television, Myanmar International Television, and various broadcasters, was held.

Myanmar Deputy Minister of Information Ye Tint stated that Chinese and Myanmar media have collaborated across various fields, producing numerous high-quality programs that introduce China’s advanced agricultural technologies and reflect the deep friendship between the peoples of the two countries. He emphasized that the broadcast of these programs has allowed the peoples of the two countries to understand each other’s cultures and traditions, strengthening mutual understanding and contributing to closer bilateral relations. Ye Tint also noted that future media cooperation areas would be expanded under the Belt and Road framework.

Zheng Zhihong from the Chinese Embassy in Myanmar highlighted that media cooperation between the two countries has rapidly developed in recent years and that joint productions reflect the China-Myanmar friendship within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. He explained that these programs aim to provide vivid portrayals of China and Myanmar to the peoples of both countries, enhancing mutual understanding and friendship while creating a positive foundation for Belt and Road cooperation.

Maylika Soe, a producer from Myanmar National Radio and Television, shared her experience of traveling to China and participating in program production. She emphasized that Myanmar media’s ability to directly observe China’s development and convey it to the Myanmar people is a significant outcome of media cooperation. She expressed hope for more China-Myanmar media cooperation opportunities in the future. Mo Xiaoxin, a representative of the China Media Group Asia-Africa Center in Myanmar, stated that Belt and Road cooperation projects offer many stories in areas such as agriculture, poverty alleviation, and cultural exchange, and they aim to produce more content based on these projects in the future.

This event marked the first joint program broadcast event organized by the China Media Group and Myanmar National Radio and Television, attracting significant attention from Myanmar media. All documentaries will be broadcast on various television channels in Myanmar.
