We are living in an era of rapid change in the international system, with power balances being reshaped. In this period, where the post-Cold War order is no longer sufficient to respond to global challenges, new approaches are emerging across a wide range of areas, from development to security, intercultural dialogue, and governance reform.
The four major global initiatives successively announced by President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping (Global Development, Global Security, Global Civilization, and Global Governance) are at the very center of these new approaches and represent China’s comprehensive vision for the world stage.
This study examines the four initiatives not only as the conceptual framework of China’s foreign policy but also as a new model of international cooperation that is rapidly gaining traction, particularly in the Global South. The report assesses the realities of an era in which development cannot be considered separately from security, respect and pluralism among civilizations can contribute to global peace, and governance reform has become an indispensable part of demands for equality and justice.
