China successfully launched the Yaogan-46 remote sensing satellite into space using a modified Long March-7 carrier rocket from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in Hainan, a southern island province of the country.
The launch occurred on Monday at 11:47 a.m. Beijing Time, and the satellite successfully reached its predetermined orbit.
The Yaogan-46 satellite is intended for applications including disaster prevention and relief, land resource surveys, hydrology, meteorology, and other related fields.
This mission marks the 605th flight of the Long March carrier rocket series.
