On April 3rd, a China-Vietnam rapid clearance train, loaded with goods, is scheduled to depart from the Nanning International Railway Port in Guangxi, China, heading to Vietnam. Launched in 2017, the China-Vietnam rapid clearance train has steadily increased the number of trips and expanded the range of goods transported. By 2024, the train line had transported 19,670 TEUs, with products including electronics, precision engineering equipment, and agricultural products.
The Nanning International Railway Port stands out as a crucial logistics hub, strengthening economic cooperation between China and ASEAN countries. Additionally, the China-ASEAN Specialty Products Center in Nanning is contributing to regional trade by offering a variety of Asian culinary products. Here, consumers can easily access products like durian from Malaysia, bak kut teh from Singapore, and coffee from Vietnam.
These developments demonstrate the rapid digitalization of trade between China and ASEAN, marking the beginning of a new era. With the help of digital platforms and physical trade fairs, China-ASEAN cooperation is becoming more efficient, while cross-border financial infrastructures are accelerating this process. This transformation represents an important step for the future of regional trade.
