President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has sent an invitation to Chinese President Xi Jinping to pay a visit to Turkmenistan. This will give an impetus to promising areas of cooperation and open a new page in the annals of Turkmen-Chinese relations, the state information agency TDH reported on May 20.
Xi Jinping, in turn, accepted the invitation and sent a reply message. “I attach great importance to the development of Chinese-Turkmen comprehensive strategic partnership relations and wish to maintain close working contacts with you. Thank you for the invitation and I am ready to visit Turkmenistan at a convenient time for both sides. The Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries can maintain close contact on this issue,” it says.
It was noted that the Chinese side consistently supports the deepening of mutually beneficial partnership between the two countries in various fields, and the China-Turkmenistan Cooperation Committee can carefully study the proposals and implement them under appropriate conditions.
