China’s Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region continues to strengthen its trade with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative. In the first half of 2024, Ningxia’s total import and export volume with these countries reached 5.12 billion yuan, marking an 8.7% increase compared to the same period last year. From 2022 to 2024, total trade volume amounted to 29.4 billion yuan. To enhance its openness to the outside world, Ningxia has also improved its transportation and logistics infrastructure. International flight routes to cities such as Hong Kong, Dubai, Bangkok, and Vientiane have been resumed, while freight train services to Central and Southeast Asia continue to operate steadily.
Meanwhile, the 7th China-Arab States Expo will be held in Ningxia’s capital Yinchuan from August 28 to 31. The expo will feature economic and trade meetings aimed at promoting cooperation in investment, the low-altitude economy, and new energy sectors. Nearly 200 foreign participants from 18 Belt and Road countries—including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Egypt—alongside representatives from over 300 Chinese enterprises are expected to attend.
