A wind farm built by a Chinese company in Kazakhstan’s Akmola region, which began operation in 2023, has become one of the country’s largest clean energy projects. China and its Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) partners are strengthening cooperation in renewable energy, ecological protection, new energy vehicles, and sustainable transportation, moving together toward low-carbon development and a greener future. In Uzbekistan, ecological restoration projects around the Aral Sea are being supported by Chinese expertise, including the introduction of salt-tolerant plants, drip irrigation systems, and new agricultural technologies.
China’s technology and experience play a crucial role in addressing environmental challenges and supporting sustainable development across the region. During the “Green Transport Week” held in Almaty, Chinese-made electric buses and cars attracted significant attention, and new energy vehicles from China are increasingly popular in Central Asian cities. SCO members, including Russia, aim to deepen cooperation with China in clean energy and low-carbon technologies, while experts emphasize that this process offers a transformative opportunity for regional development.
