Tongjiang Railway Port, located in China’s northeastern Heilongjiang Province, recorded significant growth in China-Europe freight train transportation during the first half of 2026. As of June 23, the port had handled a total of 128 China-Europe freight train services and 115,724 tonnes of cargo. These figures represent an increase of more than 100 percent compared to the same period last year.
As one of the key transit hubs in the logistics network connecting China and Europe, freight trains at the port are processed at the transshipment yard of Tongjiang North Railway Station. Growing trade volumes in the region and strengthened rail connectivity have further enhanced the port’s strategic importance within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Officials stated that the increase in freight traffic at the port has reinforced the efficiency of China-Europe trade corridors and reflects the continued development of cross-border logistics capacity.
