The Turkey Publishers Association announced that China has been chosen as the “focus country” for the 10th Istanbul Publishing Fellowship, which will be held from February 25 to 27. Muhammed Agirakca, Chairman of the organizing committee, stated at a press conference that this decision was made due to China’s rich literary traditions and the growing importance of cultural exchange between China and Turkey. Agirakca emphasized that strengthening the shared cultural and literary heritage between the two nations is of great significance.
During the event, China-themed booths featuring both traditional and modern Chinese art, delectable Chinese cuisine, and interactive performances will provide participants with a rich cultural experience. Additionally, dedicated sessions will offer participants the opportunity to engage in one-on-one meetings with Chinese representatives, further enhancing cultural exchange and collaboration in the publishing sector. This year’s program is expected to host a total of 378 publishers from 75 countries, including 120 Turkish publishers.
