The largest natural gas processing terminal project of its kind built by China’s largest offshore crude oil producer Bohai Oilfield has officially started supplying natural gas to nearby areas. Located in Binzhou, in the eastern Shandong province, the project functions as an important onshore terminal support project for the Bozhong 19-6 Condensate Natural Gas Field, the first natural gas field in the Bohai Sea with confirmed reserves of more than 100 billion cubic meters, according to a statement released by the Tianjin branch of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) on Monday. The project is expected to process around 1.3 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year.
Jiang An, general manager of CNOOC Tianjin subsidiary, said, “The gas field will provide more stable and reliable clean energy to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Bohai Coastal region. This is of great significance for securing national energy security and optimizing the energy structure.”
