The book launch event for “From the Pens of Diplomats: ‘Belt and Road'” was held on March 29 at the China Modern Literature Museum, organized by the Foreign Affairs Department of the China Writers Association and Writers Publishing House. This two-volume work is a collection of cultural essays written by 38 ambassadors and attachés, sharing their overseas experiences, stories of friendship between China and other countries, and accounts of cooperation. The book is regarded as a significant work reflecting social transformations and cultural exchanges in regions covered by the Belt and Road initiative.
Wu Yiqin, Vice Chairman of the China Writers Association, stated that this work enriches the cultural dimension of the Belt and Road initiative and contributes to the global understanding of cooperation. One of the book’s editors, former ambassador Zhou Xiaopei, emphasized that this is the first work to systematically compile diplomats’ memoirs, making a valuable contribution to China’s public diplomacy.
During the launch event, some of the book’s authors shared personal anecdotes from their diplomatic missions abroad. Additionally, an official unveiling and donation ceremony was held, with “From the Pens of Diplomats: ‘Belt and Road'” being added to the literary collection of the China Modern Literature Museum.
