Hong Kong Secretary for Transport and Logistics, Lam Sai-hung, announced during his visit to Cathay Pacific that the Hong Kong government plans to optimize Belt and Road routes and strengthen aviation service connections with relevant regions. Lam emphasized the importance of expanding aviation services following the activation of the three-runway system and stated that they would align with China’s Air Silk Road initiative.
The government aims to review existing airline routes and explore new opportunities. Additionally, support will be provided for Cathay Pacific’s efforts to expand its international network and strengthen Hong Kong’s role as a global aviation hub.
