The Incheon Port Authority (IPA) Shanghai Office announced its participation in the “2024 Maritime Silk Road Port International Cooperation Forum” held at the Ningbo International Convention Center in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, China, on June 26. This significant event, now in its 8th year, brought together over a thousand port and logistics officials from more than 30 countries to discuss enhancing port services, strengthening port networking, and forming a consensus on development.
The forum, jointly organized by the Ningbo Municipal People’s Government, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Transportation, and the Department of Marine Economy Development, is hosted by the Zhejiang Seaport Group. This group operates and manages all ports in Zhejiang Province, including Ningbo Port, which is renowned as the world’s number one in cargo throughput.
During the forum, the IPA Shanghai Office participated in a friendship cooperation ceremony with major global port authorities, including the Zhejiang Seaport Group, the Port of Houston in the United States, and the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands. This ceremony aimed to expand networking and foster international cooperation among global ports.
In addition to the ceremony, the IPA played a crucial role in a high-level roundtable meeting attended by executives from port-related governments, institutions, and shipping companies. The discussions focused on the development direction of global trade, highlighting the importance of international collaboration in the port and logistics industry.
