Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated on Monday that China will continue to work with all parties to practice true multilateralism, safeguard the central role of the United Nations, and promote global governance based on extensive consultation, joint contribution, and shared benefits. Wang sent a written message to the international symposium themed “Strengthen the Role of the United Nations and Promote Multilateralism”, hosted by the Chinese Foreign Ministry in Beijing.
Wang emphasized that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War and the founding of the UN, highlighting the need for the international community to act in solidarity to uphold justice, peace, and global development. He reaffirmed China’s commitment, as a founding member of the UN and a permanent member of the UN Security Council, to fostering a more just and equitable global governance system. The symposium was attended by over 100 participants, including representatives from nearly 50 countries, international and regional organizations, UN officials, and scholars.
