In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have accelerated transformation across various sectors, from traditional manufacturing to modern services, from energy to healthcare, significantly contributing to economic growth. For example, the first “smart patrol robot” deployed at the Daqing Oilfield has replaced human inspections with autonomous monitoring systems. This robot enables real-time tracking of production parameters, detects anomalies, and optimizes equipment management. Across different industries in China, AI-driven digitalization is enhancing productivity and shifting traditional business models toward intelligent systems.
The application of AI is also expanding in fields such as healthcare and urban management. In Chongqing, an AI and augmented reality system has been developed to assist surgeons in making precise decisions during complex lung surgeries. Additionally, industrial robots and AI-powered city management systems are increasing efficiency while accelerating digital transformation. Smart production and service ecosystems in cities are being built using big data, neural networks, and AI-based models.
Local governments across China are establishing new industrial ecosystems based on AI technologies to support digital transformation. For example, Guilin, in Guangxi province, is developing locally-produced AI models to create application opportunities across different industries. The expansion of 5G infrastructure, the development of industrial internet platforms, and smart city projects are accelerating AI-powered transformation. These advancements not only strengthen China’s position in the global AI ecosystem but also lead the way in the widespread adoption of intelligent manufacturing applications in industry.
