Strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and China is in line with the spirit of the times and the need for regional cooperation, according to Uzbek expert Bakhodir Ismailov.
Ismailov, head of the international relations legislation department at the Institute of Legislation and Legal Policy under the presidency, emphasized that over the past 30 years, the two countries have built strong mutual political trust and developed relations based on equality, friendly neighborhood, mutual benefit, and respect for each other’s core interests.
He noted that China’s diplomatic stance promotes a just and multipolar world order while opposing hegemony. Highlighting Uzbekistan’s active participation in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) since its launch in 2013, Ismailov said bilateral cooperation entered a more dynamic phase following frequent high-level exchanges since 2016. He added that Uzbekistan-China ties are expected to deepen even further in the future.
Ismailov also pointed out that multilateral platforms like the China-Central Asia Summit help institutionalize the cooperation. He emphasized that the two countries strongly support each other’s core national interests and contribute significantly to regional stability.
