Around 60 Turkish firms and 20 Chinese companies gathered in Istanbul on Thursday for a business matchmaking event to boost bilateral cooperation in the beauty industry.
Organized by China’s Ministry of Commerce, the event facilitated direct meetings between buyers and suppliers across various categories such as beauty, skincare, haircare, and packaging. Min Yan, a representative of Guangzhou Qiaojiang Packaging, said the event revealed strong potential for Chinese products in the regional market, and she expressed her intention to return to Türkiye in the future for deeper market exploration.
In recent years, trade in beauty and hair care products between China and Türkiye has seen significant growth. According to China’s Ministry of Commerce, trade in hairdressing equipment reached 58.96 million USD in 2024, marking a 34.8% year-on-year increase. Meanwhile, trade in cosmetics, beauty, and personal care products totaled 46.78 million USD, rising by 17.6% compared to the previous year.
