China’s annual “Two Sessions” (the National People’s Congress and the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference) are closely watched worldwide. China’s economic growth targets and related policies remain at the center of international attention. Many country representatives emphasize that China’s high-quality economic growth and active promotion of the Belt and Road Initiative not only make significant contributions to the multilateral system but also create major growth opportunities for China’s trade partners.
Former Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade of Colombia, Andrés Cárdenas:
“I have reviewed the 2025 government work report and observed that China has achieved its economic growth targets. The growth target for 2025 is set at 5%, with China adopting future-oriented strategies tailored to its own characteristics. The report highlights that the development of the digital economy has been established as a strategic goal. While the adoption of 6G technology is encouraged, China is also prioritizing green transformation and environmental protection as key elements of its development. The country aims to maintain its global leadership in clean energy.”
Senior Researcher at the US-China Research Center, Surabh Gupta:
“New productive forces, advancements in the manufacturing sector, and technological leadership in fields such as chips, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence can be further developed, serving as fundamental drivers of China’s economic growth. From both an investment and consumption perspective, I believe China is fully capable of achieving this. In terms of both hardware and software, China possesses immense creative power, and we are already witnessing the results of this innovation.”
President of the Hungarian Perspective Research Institute, Ágoston Sámuel Mraz:
“Take the Hungary-Serbia Railway project as an example—this is a large-scale initiative aimed at establishing new logistics infrastructure. A railway line is being constructed to connect the Mediterranean with Hungary and Europe. The project is progressing as planned and is expected to be completed this year. The results so far are impressive, making it a truly remarkable engineering feat.”
Kenyan Scholar Herman:
“China has made significant investments in Africa, particularly in overseas infrastructure projects. These include railway and transportation projects, as well as housing developments. The infrastructure that China has built in Kenya and other African countries has been realized through serious collaborations.”
The projects undertaken by China under the Belt and Road Initiative continue to strengthen global economic connectivity and deepen multilateral cooperation.
