Saudi Arabia has announced the launch of the “Saudi-Chinese Cultural Relations Research Grant,” aimed at promoting mutual understanding and encouraging academic collaboration between the two countries, according to a statement from the Saudi Ministry of Culture. Researchers are invited to submit proposals that explore historical, artistic, linguistic, and cultural connections between Saudi Arabia and China.
The ministry stated that selected projects will receive funding for a one-year research period, with results to be announced in August. Successful studies will be published in peer-reviewed academic journals. This initiative is part of the ministry’s broader efforts to foster knowledge sharing and intercultural dialogue through academic research. In recent years, partnerships between Saudi Arabia and China have expanded, with joint projects and cultural exchange programs, including the notable China-Saudi Arabia Year of Culture 2025, featuring art exhibitions, film screenings, and academic exchanges.
