The 41st International Istanbul Book Fair commenced on Saturday, featuring Chinese publishers and a diverse selection of Chinese books. Running until November 10, the fair hosts 12 Chinese publishers who are expected to sign copyright agreements to foster cooperation.
On the opening day, the China-Türkiye Publishing Cooperation Forum was held. Zhang Jing, deputy head of Higher Education Press, one of China’s leading educational publishers, emphasized the importance of cooperation between key countries along the Silk Road. Mustafa Karslı, vice president of the Turkish-Chinese Cultural Association, highlighted how this collaboration revitalizes the rich heritage of the Silk Road.
The fair’s theme, “Childhood is a Celebration,” features Azerbaijan as the guest country, bringing together over 1,000 publishers and civil society organizations along with hundreds of authors and readers.
