Chinese Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping has called for an accelerated revitalization of rural areas to advance China’s modernization. Xi made these remarks during an inspection visit to a vegetable farm and a village in Xianning City, Hubei Province, in central China, on Tuesday.
Emphasizing that development is the top priority, Xi stated that the initial phase of rural revitalization should be industry-focused. He noted the significant potential in agriculture, suggesting that investing in this sector could lead to widespread prosperity. Xi urged Communist Party committees and government bodies at all levels to prioritize agriculture, rural areas, and farmers, strengthen foundational work, improve services, and enhance the quality of life for the public.
