Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has called for deepening cooperation between China and Bangladesh to celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations and successfully mark the “Year of People-to-People Exchanges.” Wang emphasized the importance of strengthening traditional friendship, enhancing strategic communication, and advancing high-quality collaboration under the Belt and Road Initiative to elevate the comprehensive strategic partnership to new heights. He also reiterated China’s support for Bangladesh’s efforts to safeguard its independence, sovereignty, and national dignity.
Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Touhid Hossain expressed his country’s commitment to deepening cooperation with China across various fields, including economy, trade, infrastructure, healthcare, and human resources. Hossain affirmed Bangladesh’s support for China’s “One China” policy and its readiness to collaborate in promoting international justice and regional economic integration. Both sides aim to work together on large-scale initiatives as well as smaller, community-focused projects while maintaining solidarity on international and regional issues.
