The Capital Library in Beijing is hosting a special exhibition dedicated to China’s most renowned literary classics. Titled “Millennia of Cultural Heritage, A Glorious Era – Four Great Classical Novels ‘Belt and Road’ City Culture Tour”, the event aims to introduce China’s rich literary and cultural heritage to an international audience.
The exhibition showcases the history and influence of these classical works through visual displays, ancient books, cultural artifacts, and interactive activities. The Journey to the West, Dream of the Red Chamber, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and Water Margin are displayed in various editions, alongside translations in Japanese, English, and French.
Visitors can also experience traditional Chinese arts, such as paper cutting, dough modeling, and engraving, with master artisans demonstrating how these crafts connect to classical literature. Additionally, a dedicated screening area plays classic TV adaptations of these novels, bringing the stories to life.
The exhibition will be open at the Capital Library until March 28, offering a unique opportunity for those interested in exploring China’s literary and cultural legacy.
