The trial run for fuel transportation on the China-Laos Railway has officially begun. On March 12, two 20-foot tank containers were loaded with approximately 50 tons of diesel at the dedicated railway line of China Petroleum Yunnan Petrochemical in Kunming and sent to Ning’er station. This new transportation method utilizes an internationally recognized container system, eliminating the need for traditional railway tankers and enhancing safety. It also enables seamless integration between rail and road transport, improving overall logistics efficiency.
To ensure the safe transport of hazardous materials like fuel, all equipment and logistics processes underwent rigorous testing in advance. The Kunming Railway Group announced that after the successful completion of this trial, fuel transportation will be expanded across the entire China-Laos Railway, enabling large-scale shipments. This development will further strengthen trade and economic cooperation between the two countries under the Belt and Road Initiative, contributing to regional growth and connectivity.
