Zhongchu Development Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Logistics Group, officially launched its operations on April 28 in the city of Alataw Pass, located in Xinjiang. Senior officials from Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture and executives from Zhongchu attended the inauguration ceremony. Alataw Pass was highlighted as a strategic hub connecting China with Central Asian countries and playing a key role in the Belt and Road Initiative.
Officials emphasized the significance of this move in building a modern logistics system, securing national supply chains, and turning Xinjiang into a logistics hub for China’s westward opening. Zhongchu’s new operations aim to establish a strategic center for large-volume cargo transport through a “port + transport corridor” model.
With an extensive nationwide warehouse network and international delivery facilities, Zhongchu is expected to improve the efficiency of China-Europe (and Asia) freight train services. In alignment with the Belt and Road Initiative, the company seeks to build a strong overland transport channel along the Asia-Europe logistics route while enhancing digitalization and cross-border cooperation.
