From May 15 to May 28, a training program on new energy power development for Russian-speaking countries under the “Belt and Road” initiative was held in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. Twenty-five officials and experts from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, and Moldova gathered to study and discuss the development of new energy power systems. During the program, Wang Yong, Director of the Innovation Center at the State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Research Institute, gave lectures on new power systems and new energy structures.
Xinjiang serves as a strategic energy resource base for China. Leveraging its natural advantages, including ten major wind zones and five major solar zones, the region has rapidly advanced in new energy development and provides valuable experience to Central Asian countries in building new power systems.
