China’s Vice Minister of Science and Technology, Chen Jiachang, announced on June 3 that the 2nd Belt and Road Conference on Science and Technology Exchange will take place from June 10 to 12 in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The conference will focus on key topics such as aligning science and technology policies under the Belt and Road Initiative and enhancing scientific and cultural exchange. It will feature five major sections and a total of 38 activities.
According to Chen, the event will serve as an international platform for cross-regional and cross-sector scientific cooperation among Belt and Road countries, with over 100 countries and regions already registered to participate. The conference will include bilateral government agreements, the launch of major cooperative science programs, and the initiation of new large-scale international scientific projects led by Chinese scientists. China will also unveil lists of sustainable development technologies and applicable poverty-reduction innovations, and facilitate institutional agreements to further integrate scientific and industrial innovation for broader global benefit.
