The event brought together over 100 participants, including government officials, representatives from the tourism and aviation sectors, as well as experts and scholars from all three nations. In his opening speech, Sri Lankan Prime Minister Amarasuriya expressed gratitude for China’s long-standing support in areas such as infrastructure and culture, stating that the forum would deepen trust and people-to-people ties among the countries.
Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Qi Zhenhong, noted that tourism cooperation among the three nations is not just a simple partnership but a powerful synergy of complementary strengths. During the opening ceremony, the “Silk Road Tourism Cities Alliance Joint Action Plan” was released to boost collaboration in tourism.
