On June 30, the Hunan Overseas Friendship Association organized the “Belt and Road Economic and Trade Exchange Meeting” in Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province, China. The event aimed to strengthen cooperation between business communities in Hunan and the European Union. Under the umbrella of the “Hai Lian Guest Salon,” connections were established with trade and business associations across 27 EU countries. The meeting sought to offer Hunan-based companies new opportunities in cross-border investment, technology transfer, and market expansion.
Tang Yong, Head of Group 2 for Belt and Road Countries, highlighted the critical role such meetings play in transforming Hunan into an outward-facing hub from an inland region. Participants also provided various proposals related to policy support, resource sharing, and platform building to contribute to Hunan’s “Three Highs and Four New” development strategy.
