Ambassador-at-Large of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Elshad Iskandarov has said that Azerbaijan supports the “One Belt, One Road” project initiated by China.
Iskandarov made these remarks at an event on “Reassessment of the Azerbaijan-China relations: Way forward”, Report informs.
He noted that the transport hub developing in Azerbaijan will also contribute to this project.
Iskandarov said that Azerbaijan and China are also cooperating in the field of renewable energy sources.
“China has committed to constructing 230 MW power plants in Karabakh. That is, our relationship is based on a long-term perspective,” he added.
China’s One Belt, One Road Initiative is an ambitious plan to develop two new trade routes connecting China with the rest of the world. But the initiative is about far more than infrastructure.
It is an effort to develop an expanded, interdependent market for China, grow China’s economic and political power, and create the right conditions for China to build a high technology economy.
