China has reached another milestone in global logistics through its “Belt and Road” (B&R) initiative. At the Vientiane South Station in Laos, operated by China Railway Logistics, loading and unloading operations are steadily increasing. Since the start of operations in early 2024, this logistics hub surpassed 450,000 tons of cargo by February 2025, facilitating the transportation of more than 5,000 containers. China Railway Logistics has made significant contributions not only in logistics but also in regional economic development.
The impressive success at Vientiane South Station demonstrates how China’s “Belt and Road” initiative is not just about infrastructure but also about logistical and economic integration. Starting as a “pioneer” during the construction phase, China Railway Logistics is now building “economic bridges” with its regional logistics services. The company places great emphasis on safety, continues to run modern logistics operations in Laos, and directly contributes to the region’s economic growth.
In addition to these achievements, Chinese logistics companies aim to offer even more integrated solutions in the future. China plans to establish more efficient transportation networks with freight transportation, logistics hubs, and eco-friendly technologies, while also providing sustainable logistics services to the region. With both economic development and environmentally friendly projects, China’s logistics sector is writing a new success story on a global scale under the “Belt and Road” initiative.
