China and Kuwait marked the first United Nations International Day for Dialogue Among Civilizations, observed annually on June 10, with a special cultural event held at the China Cultural Center in Hawalli Governorate. Titled “Conversation and Connection: Chinese and Arabic Calligraphy and Music Salon,” the event highlighted the rich cultural heritages of both nations through calligraphy displays and musical performances.
Co-organized by the China Cultural Center and the Old Kuwaiti Crafts Society, the event brought together nearly 200 guests from various sectors in China and Kuwait. Liu Xiang, chargé d’affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy in Kuwait, emphasized that this international day was proposed by China and reflects the importance of cultural exchange in promoting mutual understanding and progress. The event also called for stronger cultural ties between the two countries.
