Guo Jiakun, spokesperson for China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the fact that trade volume between China and Central Asian countries has exceeded USD 100 billion clearly demonstrates the rapid deepening of cooperation between the two sides.
At a regular press briefing held today, Guo was asked to comment on the trade figures showing that in 2025, trade between China and the five Central Asian countries surpassed USD 100 billion for the first time. He noted that at a time when global economic growth remains weak and the international trading system is under significant pressure, China–Central Asia economic and trade cooperation has continued to advance with strong counter-cyclical momentum.
Guo emphasized that this development further strengthens the guiding role of the China–Central Asia cooperation mechanism and represents a new milestone in the history of cooperation between the two sides.
The spokesperson added that China stands ready to work together with Central Asian countries to further strengthen the China–Central Asia mechanism, promote more innovative, higher-quality and more results-oriented cooperation across all fields, and continue joint efforts to build a closer China–Central Asia community with a shared future.
