The Central Economic Work Conference emphasized the need to deepen the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative and to enhance the integrated overseas service system. In this context, significant steps are being taken to help Chinese companies overcome challenges in foreign trade and increase their effectiveness in global markets.
By the end of 2023, Chinese enterprises had established approximately 17,000 overseas companies in Belt and Road countries, with direct investments exceeding $330 billion. However, due to differing legal regulations, cultural differences, and environmental requirements in various countries, a more comprehensive service network is needed to address the issues faced by businesses. To achieve this goal, plans are in place to innovate financial services, strengthen e-commerce logistics, and enhance international legal support. Additionally, bolstering the infrastructure for logistics and financing under the “Digital Silk Road” e-commerce initiatives will facilitate access to global markets for more Chinese enterprises.
