A four-day exhibition showcasing China’s latest technological achievements in smart tourism kicked off on Thursday in Singapore. The event aims to deepen cooperation and promote knowledge exchange between industry stakeholders from both China and Singapore.
Steven Ler, President of the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore, emphasized the strong potential for bilateral collaboration in smart tourism. He noted that players from both countries are actively sharing ideas and experiences to enhance the quality of tourism services. Singapore, he added, is committed to adopting smart tourism and digital transformation to improve the visitor experience.
Kong Yuan, Director of the China Cultural Center in Singapore, stated that the two countries have complementary strengths that open up significant opportunities for cooperation. She expressed hope that the exhibition would serve as a platform to promote cross-border partnerships and encourage companies to jointly apply emerging technologies such as virtual reality (VR), artificial intelligence (AI), and big data in tourism products and services.
The opening ceremony brought together over 200 representatives from Chinese smart tech companies and Singapore’s culture, tourism, and technology sectors, while also attracting more than 720,000 online viewers.
Under the theme “Creating and Sharing the Future,” the exhibition features a range of cutting-edge technologies, including immersive VR experiences, green-screen filming, and intelligent museum systems. Participating companies will also engage in in-depth discussions with local institutions.
The event is jointly organized by the China Cultural Center in Singapore, the China National Tourist Office in Singapore, and the China Culture and Entertainment Industry Association. It will run through Sunday.
