China’s rapidly advancing high-speed rail technology is not only transforming domestic transportation but also playing a key role in global infrastructure and connectivity projects. With a network exceeding 48,000 kilometers, China boasts the world’s largest high-speed rail system, connecting 97% of cities with populations over 500,000. China is also a leading force in setting all international standards under the International Union of Railways (UIC).

China’s high-speed rail projects have been implemented in over 40 countries and regions worldwide. In Indonesia, the Jakarta-Bandung line has cut travel time from three hours to just 46 minutes, while the Hungary-Serbia railway has reduced travel time from eight hours to three. In Laos, the operational China-Laos Railway has significantly contributed to regional trade and economic development.

Additionally, companies like Japan’s Hitachi have emphasized the importance of their partnerships with China, noting that the Belt and Road Initiative offers new opportunities for collaboration in third countries. China’s high-speed rail technology is seen as a development model for emerging economies and is paving the way for new partnerships in the global railway sector.
