The Zhuhai port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (HZMB) achieved a remarkable milestone on Tuesday by serving over 144,000 arriving and departing passengers, setting a new record for daily passenger flow since its inauguration. Data from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge border control station revealed that this figure surpassed the previous day’s record of 130,000 passengers. Additionally, more than 18,000 incoming and outgoing vehicles traversed the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge on Tuesday, further underlining its significance as the world’s longest bridge and tunnel sea crossing.
Spanning 55 kilometers, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge links China’s Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Zhuhai city in Guangdong province, and the Macau Special Administrative Region. This monumental infrastructure project has generated substantial economic opportunities and benefits for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, contributing to regional development and connectivity.
