BEIJING, Dec. 23 (Xinhua) — China’s telecommunications industry demonstrated resilient growth during the January-November period. According to data released on Monday by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the sector’s aggregate business revenue reached 1.61 trillion yuan (approximately 228 billion U.S. dollars), representing a 0.9 percent year-on-year increase.
The expansion of China’s 5G infrastructure and adoption remains robust. As of late November, the nation had deployed a total of 4.83 million 5G base stations. Furthermore, the number of 5G mobile subscribers reached 1.19 billion, accounting for 65.3 percent of the total mobile phone user base in the country.
The Ministry further highlighted that mobile internet traffic has maintained a relatively high growth trajectory. Simultaneously, the construction of critical network infrastructure—including 5G networks, gigabit optical networks, and Internet of Things (IoT) frameworks—continues to progress systematically.
