– Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that the 21st century should be an era of accelerated development and revitalization for Asia, especially South Asia.
Speaking at a joint press conference after the 6th China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue in Islamabad with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Wang emphasized that South Asian countries possess a rich civilization, a large population, and vast development potential. He noted that during his visits to India, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, he had witnessed firsthand the region’s strong development prospects, stressing that peace, stability, and prosperity in South Asia serve the common interests of all parties.
Wang stated that China is committed to strengthening good-neighborly relations with South Asian countries, deepening mutually beneficial cooperation, and advancing the building of a community with a shared future. Highlighting that China-Pakistan relations are “unbreakable under any circumstances,” he added that through cooperation under the Global Development Initiative and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor within the framework of the Kuşak ve Yol, the two countries will benefit not only their own people but also Afghanistan and others in the region.
