    Chinese Investments Accelerate Uganda’s Industrial Transformation

    Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni stated that Chinese-funded industrial parks and factories play a vital role in the country’s industrial transformation. On August 29, Museveni visited the Sino-Uganda Mbale Industrial Park in the eastern city of Mbale, where he inaugurated four new factories and laid the foundation stones for nine others. Emphasizing that industrialization is one of the government’s key pillars for national development, he said, “Industries are the answer for Uganda and for Africa … Thank you very much for helping us transform our country.”

    It was noted that the industrial park is located in Mbale, a key inland transportation hub that connects Uganda to the Port of Mombasa in neighboring Kenya. Museveni underlined
